Storage conundrum

If I had to choose some garage storage cabinets there would be only one option. I think I would have to go with wooden cabinets, merely for aesthetic reasons, I suppose. That is, unless I would have an attack of sensibility and opt for stainless steel cabinets that are easy to maintain.

Poor Burma

It's a sad story coming out of Burma these days. Buddhist monks demonstrating and protesting against a particularly nasty military junta. It must be a very paranoid sort of society where fear of reprisals rule what people do and don't do. I was amazed that people there have access to the internet at all. Like China I would have thought that the Myanmar regime would make every effort to prevent people from accessing free and open information. I hope that the monks and the people of Burma get through this dark situation alright.

Final issue AHM out now!

I just put out the final issue of my poetry magazine.

It was the very last time I put out an issue, informed the contributors and put on the final touches. I hope you'll like this issue if you're heading over there to have a look. The final print issue is available which is a piece of history and I don't think there will ever be another one..

Student frenzy

Today is the start of the new academic year and as I work in a university library there is no getting away from the multitudes of students who will be milling around, sheepishly looking for this, that and the other. It's an exciting time for those of them who are starting their degree courses and I mustn't grumble as they pay my wages, I suppose. Oh well..just a few months till Christmas!
