Summer is here

At least for today. I woke up this morning to see the golden sunshine streaming through my windows, nice one. It felt warm and balmy, like summer already. Finally, we're having some nice warm weather after all the drizle and grey skies over the past few months. Let's go surfing, summer is here!

Pants

Pants. What an unusual word, really. In modern British youth parlance it means something that a person does not really like or approve of to some degree. A funny usage of the word, to be sure. And, of course more importantly, we all know the word as the American word of the clothes items that I know as trousers. And, being a man, I have a close affinity with my trousers or pants as I will call them for the remainder of this post.

My favourite pants could easily be a pair from the choice on offer from Dockers, the well-known clothes brand that is so popular right now. They have a great variety of wear and clothes, and also great pants.

However, I must concede that my own favourite pair of pants are my old blue jeans, an item that I wear very often indeed. They are just so comfortable and easy to wear and when I sport them I feel good, yes even confident. A day in the life of my pants would see them hoisting me into them in the morning, sitting me down to breakfast before walking to the bus stop to catch the old reliable Number 41 to work. At work they would be right there with me as I do my duties during the working day. During lunch time my pants and I would be sitting in the park munching on my sandwiches (me, that is, not my pants..). Then when it's time to knock off I take them with me back home for a relaxing evening. All in all, my pants tend to have pretty good days.

Bank Holiday drizzle

Typically it is a Bank Holiday and so the weather has turned chilly and grey. Nevermind. There are still the customary sofa ads on telly, Escape to Victory is on later this afternoon and no doubt there will be something starring Chevy Chase on as well. I long for some proper sunshine; some blue skies, please!

The Pirates

Just now on the telly I was watching the program Top of the Pops 2 which is always good value. They always delve deeply into the naff past of pop music and show the oddest bands that time forgot and rightly so. A band of ancient rockers called 'The Pirates' were just one with that 'Shivers down my backbone' song. They looked tired and in need of a lie-down. Bless them..

Frontier

Do I like horror movies? Hmm..an interesting question, I must admit. I have certainly enjoyed watching certain horror movies in the past. I would say that I enjoy watching good movies of whatever genre so that could in theory include horror movies. Films such as ‘The Shining’ by Kubrick I find fascinating because of the way in which such an eerie atmosphere is portrayed and the fact that the scariest thing remains the human mind itself.

I have just watched a Trailer for this new film with the title Frontier and I must say it looks very intriguing. It is uncut and unrated so the shock value should be catered for, I would imagine. The trailer does make me want to go and see it for a good night our being scared witless in a most entertaining manner. Should be a good one, I think.

It looks like it could be one of those road movies gone wrong. I mean where someone is on the run from something only to find that the refuge they choose turns out to be far worse and hellish than what they were running from in the first place. And I do like a good road movie, especially one that is scary enough.
