I have been amazed at how popular the Dutch musician Andre Rieu is here in Australia. It seems as though people can’t get enough of his romantic classical treatments. I remember him from years ago in Holland and he was loved by ladies of a certain age but the rest of us thought he was just far too cliché and cheesy. Go figure. He was even in an episode of ‘Neighbours’ for crying out loud.

Cave tapes
United States President Barack Obama is on a trip to the Middle East to repair relations with the muslim world and hey presto, there’s another tape of Osama Bin Laden urging muslims to equate Obama with his predecessor. It is starting to look a bit desperate all these whingeing tapes from the bearded cave dweller. Why can’t he go and get a job like the rest of us and just get on with it already?

Paintball fun
There is a seemingly endless choice of things to do when it comes to finding something to do in your leisure time. Some people are into sports in a big way, others prefer to visit an art gallery and yet others just like to curl up with a good book and a cup of coffee. Something I sometimes enjoy is getting together with a group of friends and doing some paintballing. This really is great fun and a great way to spend a few hours.

Great film
Just watched To Die For, the Gus van Sant film starring Nicole Kidman. I love that film and I think Nicole Kidman does a great job in portraying the amoral ambitious Suzanne Stone. One of my favourite scenes is where her husband, played by Matt Dillon, holds up a child at a family party and also a hamburger. Referring to the burger he asks Suzanne if she would like one. She says in a too matter of a fact and snide way: “No thanks!” He then points to the child and says: “How about one of these?” Her answer is identical: “No thanks!”
Job hunting
I’m applying for jobs left right and also centre. So far I am not getting much joy but I feel confident that something must materialize sooner or later. After all, am I not a great catch for any library or university? Surely that almost goes without saying. So there. It is a bit disheartening to be a job hunter as anyone will be able to agree with, I’m sure.
The best jewelers
One of life’s true great joys is to see a lovely looking woman on the dance floor, twirling around in a stunning dress and enjoying the moment. For me, as a true blue man, there is something wonderful about seeing a woman being happy and joyously alive. A gentle added touch will often be provided by the lady in question choosing some fine piece of fashion jewelry to complement her outfit and appearance.
If you are at all looking for the best in jewelry then I would urge you to hurry on over to Hosted Jewelers who are able to provide a full range of fine jewelry in every price range imaginable. Check it out to see what I mean.

Drizle days
Drizle pours down onto glistening streets. The nearby school has just finished, disgorging numbers of children, chatting and yelling loudly as their mothers come to collect them in their 4WDs. I went for a walk earlier today and enjoyed the peace and quiet in some of the back streets. It really is a pretty good place to live, all things considered.
