Walking the walk

Much to my relief I have managed to drop quite a few kilos of weight recently and I cannot really tell you, dear reader, how happy and contented that makes me feel. I am not kidding, it is the truth, I do assure you. For a number of years you see I have carried around with me the typical bulky frame of a man in his early middle age. I did not like it. Some people call it quasi whimsically ‘the battle of the bulge.’ After all, once an average man hits forty years of age, he tends to sport a bit of a spare tire around his waist. And I do not think it is a good luck, to be perfectly honest.

In my younger years I was more involved with sports such as tennis, basketball and soccer. I simply loved football or soccer as we Antipodeans like to call that elegant and athletic game. Tennis was good too and I enjoyed the combination of exertion, speed and skills that it required.

These days, I opt for a more comfortable way to exercise and work out. My lovely fiancée and I regularly go for strenuous walks around this beautiful parkland we like in the neighbourhood. The fresh air, the wildlife, the green scenery all combine to make those walks a genuine pleasure.

Of course, healthy food and a sensible diet is important as well, that almost goes without saying. With the use of a Blender Bottle and a calorie counting recipe book we are set to achieve even more weight loss.

Life is pretty good when you feel good the direction in which you are heading

Glorious rain

Today it rained almost continually and I enjoyed it, I did. When I lived in Holland I hated the cold icy rain in winter. In England I disliked the measly drizzly rain that seemed almost omnipresent. Here in Sydney I simply love it when those tropical rain showers come crashing down. The force of it is just impressive, the sound soothing when I sit on the balcony and just end up mesmerizing myself into a sweet dozy trance. Rain, rain don't go away..

Scrubs

The right gear makes a job in hand a heck of a lot easier to complete. That goes for almost any walk in life. A carpenter will tell you that a properly sharpened chisel makes his work easier, quicker and safer. It makes sense, I think you will agree. A police man will require a fast patrol car, a truncheon, possibly a pistol and, fat chance, a supportive judiciary.

Likewise nursing uniforms are vital for the staff in hospitals to carry out their tasks properly. It makes for a better professional attitude and improves hygiene considerations as well of course.

Whether you all cotton scrubs or any other kind of scrubs, just check out Blue Sky Scrubs for the best available today. Go on, have a look right now!

For the best quality scrubs and the very best in cheap scrub tops you now know you were should go. Simply scoot on over to Blue Sky Scrubs for the very best deals around.

Julia pants on fire

The PM has outed herself as a famous Liar, first saying there would be no carbon tax and once the elections were behind her announcing...a carbon tax. Gotspe? Just another dodgy politician? A Labour PM ruled by the wacky Greens. I should say all of the above would easily apply. As if the cost of living isn't insanely high already we need to pay through the nose for everything even more it would appear. Then, the carbon tax is meant to morph into an ETS or Emissions Trading System or Employment Termination Programme.

Writing forever..

Writing has for ages been a grand passion of mine, it has to be said. Nothing else really gets my attention like text and then more accurately well written text. I just love the original usage of words, a deft turn of phrase or an image or metaphor that hits where it hurts. To me, that is just a wonderful way to celebrate the mind and the heart, both being invaluable tools of any creative writer.

With the onset of the digital age it became easier to write, by simply making advances in typing itself, the mere act of typing text became more sophisticated and user friendly. I remember banging out reams of text on type writers, albeit electronic ones, and having a devil of a time trying to correct errors and typos that had slipped me by.

And then of course, Halleluja, we had the first text processors and lateron computers, lap tops and the ever evolving word processing programmes that were available.

Things like blog layouts and website design became important to know about as were HTML and CSS. I love my blogs and it affords me a smooth outlet for whatever occupies my mind at any given moment. I can include pictures, video or other image based material, but to me the written word will always prevail.

Fans

Tried to have some ceiling fans installed. A tidy selection of doubtless able electricians had a look at it, some quoting large amounts, some being more realistic. In the end, it turned out to be too difficult to hang 3 basic ceiling fans. Oh well. Summer is over anyway so we'll just quietly forget about the whole thing. Time to put on a jumper more like kind of weather..

Mini voice recorder

Some men, and yes to be honest and egalitarian, some women just plain adore a great looking gadget. They can not get enough of it. They may hunt high and low for the very next big thing to come along. Just look at some of the keen and eager faces in the crowd whenever some major computer company launches another invention or innovation. I used to know someone who was always first to get involved with some technical fad or other. When most of us were still carrying our brick like cassette walkman players around with us he would be rigging up a basic computer to the most basic of dial up connections to something called ‘the net’. Ah happy days.

And yet, I too admire advancement in the technological arena, I certainly do. For instance, I loved how crisp the image on the screen became when watching a film on the DVD format. I also quite enjoy working on my lap top computer, there, I have said it. And useful instruments such as a state of the art digital voice recorder is always good to have if you have such requirements.

The world has changed and it will be this way from now on. People are getting used to demanding the best from their technology and why shouldn’t they, really?
A professional manufacturer of security products would be my personal choice if I were to consider purchasing a voice recorder, that much is certain.
