The New Year got off to a rocky start with the murder of Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan and the violence in Kenya. In the UK a number of stabbings and other violent incidents took place over the festive period. Season of goodwill? Not for everyone, it seems. It is easy to grow despondent regarding what the future will bring but I feel we need to muster at least a modicum of hope. What, after all, are we without hope?
