High Gothic

Went to London for the day yesterday and had a great time. There was something I wanted to see in Kensington Gardens and while we walked along the park's lanes we came upon the Albert Memorial. The picture here doesn't do it justice; it's a massive thing and extremely ornate in that wonderfully Gothic Arts & Crafts-type way. I loved it. It was just so incredibly bold as an artistic statement. No stained sheets or pickled sharks here.

It stands across from the Royal Albert Hall and is just stunning. It's a really nice park generally and everywhere I looked there were people enjoying themselves and relaxing.
