Today I started the studying to be a Brit, no seriously. I am just in the process of applying for British citizenship and have made an attempt to read the first few chapters of the required handbook with information on life in the U.K. This will then enable me to take the citizenship test which I am hoping to pass soon. I don't think I will be pledging allegiance to the Queen but will instead opt to go for the affirmation. My Aussie and Irish roots will revolt if I try to swear allegiance to the Crown.
