Christmas

Merry Christmas to all and sundry. I used to watch the Urbi et Orbi when I lived in Europe but, being based in the Antipodean region these days, that's no longer an option. Still, here's hoping next year will bring hope and faith to those who are in desperate need, many of whom are to be found in the developed world..

Rock-salt, a winter's tale

Even though I tend to live my life these days in somewhat balmier climes, I have ample experience with having to deal with rather severe winters. In the Netherlands, where I grew up, and also in parts of the United Kingdom where I lived for quite a long time, it can get pretty darn cold during the winter months.

I remember when the temperatures used to drop suddenly during a cold snap and invariably the roads would become quite dangerous because of sleet and black ice. And then you would see the council trucks appear like the cavalry in a cheesy western, in this case dispersing vast amounts of grit in a huge effort to keep traffic moving at a pace.

But of course, people’s own drives turn tricky and slippery as well and that is when you should use rock-salt to avoid any nasty accidents on your driveway or foot path. We cannot help winter arriving and cold temperatures but we certainly can make our drives safe with the use of rock-salt.

Gadget Heaven

I used to love watching James Bond films and one the things I enjoyed most was his masterly use of yet another marvellous gadget, invariably supplied by that genius Q. back at head office. There was a never ending series of wonderful handy gadgets and gizmos, always sure to help Bond escape a deadly serious predicament. I saw it and it was good. I still love to read those magazines with tech gadgets, smart instruments and things that just amaze with their ingenuity and clever applications. A joy it is to imagine using those smart little implements. But lest you think all of this belongs to the world of fantasy and imagination, check out what I have found for you and you will be as happy as I was.

Think Geek coupons and a world of gadgets and gizmos and then head on over to Geek Alerts to be dazzled as well as delighted. You will love what you will find at this geeky treasure trove of splendour.

For a Dell coupon or two, the latest gadget news hot of the press and more, just check them out. Also do not forget that you will find great discount coupons and the very best promo codes which you will be able to redeem at some of the most reputable online outlets and services.

Just ThinkGeek promo code and you will be off and running to geek gadget heaven. Have fun!

Fun and games

When the poet William Blake and his wife were sitting in their front garden, sipping tea in their birthday suits, the local pastor walked past and, upon sighting the bare couple proceeded to admonish them. Blake wasn't having anything of it and simply retorted: “It's nothing Adam and Eve wouldn't have done, Vicar.”

If you're looking for something even naughtier then you should check out adamandeve.com where you will get 50% OFF any single item as well as 3 free DVDs, free shipping. Raising your profile

Businesses everywhere in the world imaginable undoubtedly always need a fair measure of exposure, that much is certain. A successful business venture is only successful if and when people out there in the real world are made well aware of the offers available from that particular business or company enterprise. You know it makes sense. Of course, there has always been the avenue of advertising that can certainly raise awareness as well as exposure.

There are a million different options to choose from when it comes down to advertising your product and / or service on offer. Of course, the online world abounds with companies vying for that customer’s buying dollar. Any serious business venture would do well to get listed in a quality business listing such as Jasmine Directory. This can bring a lot of traffic and potential purchases, there is no doubt about it. Having your venture listed with the Jasmine Directory will bring a plethora of benefits that you would be foolish to pass up, all things considered.

This excellent directory is, after all, 100% friendly with regards to Search Engine Optimization. You will be happy to hear that, obviously. The directory is also W3 css and HTML valid, which is another added benefit. And do not forget about the automatic thumbnail and five deep URLs that are available as well. My own pursuits have included selling my literary efforts, that is my self published poetry books. Once again, exposure matters so incredibly much.

If no one is aware of your product or service then there will not be much point continuing the venture, at least not in the long run. Social media can certainly play a roll here but listing your site, your business in one of the more qualitative directories is a sure fire way of enhancing your business profile. A world of words

Words, to me, are a very important part of every day life. Sure, I can hear you ask, does that not apply to most of us, all things considered? I do not know, really. I just know that for me, as a poet and editor it matters a lot to me to endeavour to find decent ways of expressing myself effectively. For a number of years now, for instance, I have been editing a literary magazine. It has a certain modest following and it has been a pleasure to be in a position to publish work by new and upcoming poets from all over the world. After all, I remember so well how I felt when my own poem submissions would meet with an editor’s approval and to see your own literary efforts in print is a rare thrill.

I also work for a translation service as I am bilingual and have been translating between English and Dutch and vice versa. I find that sort of work very satisfying on several levels.

There are so many translation agencies to choose from if you are in the market to commission work or to find employment as a translator. The work is our there if you want to forge ahead and make your mark as a translator.

If you need to have a document translated then I would urge you to do some research before you decide on any one translation agency to entrust with your project. I found that Rosetta Translation is a superb translation company and I can highly recommend them to anyone with an interest in quality translation services.

Fate, and life

Well, I suppose you could say that really, life is a tricky thing at times, I think we can all agree on that to all intents and purposes. And you could well be the most prudent person in the whole wide wacky world but then, all at once, some horrible instance of genuine bad fortune may take place, which can result in a loss or injury or even other type of tragedy. You will have to admit that you can see what I am trying to get at, I hope . After all, there are very few secure guarantees in life, if any to be honest.

Yet once in a while you come across things that could have been avoided and that have an disastrous effect on your health or general situation. For example, if you have taken Actos and have contracted that frightening disease of bladder cancer then you may well want to get in contact with the actos attorneyswho can help you gain compensation.

Mac-aroni

Still getting used to my new iMac but am loving it. They say once you change to Mac you never go Bac.

I can certainly Adam 'n Eve that. Things just seem to be so much more user friendly, smooth and streamlined.
You don't have to apply patches, look around for drivers that once were there but somehow disappeared and so on. Love it!

Carbon tax gets passed in the Senate and Tony Abott is in London. Writing it off as a bad job?

Political break

Having just had a break from news and current affairs, I was getting married after all, I am slowly becoming aware of a few things going on. Australian politics are still dismal as ever. An incompetent Labour Government who blames its own ineptitude on the prowess of the leader of the Opposition, who himself just fails to impress time and time again. Just recently when The Queen was in the country he sang Her praises thusly: 'She's had sixty years on the throne.' I thought he was talking about the Royal Cloakroom and matters of less than regal standing. And apparently he's a Rhodes scholar. I don't know. The Gillard grates, the Abott irritates..

Ruskies

The Wallabies smashed the Russians yesterday. Convincing win but, once again, the Aussies fell asleep in the second half, taking their eye off the ball, literally, allowing the opponents back into the game. So frustrating. You can get away with such sloppy lack of consistency against a minion like Russia but certainly would be punished for it versus the likes of the All Blacks or Spring Boks, and probably likewise against the Poms or France. Still, enjoyed watching the game and was pleased with the resounding win.

Learning a trade

Be fair, you know that in general school days can be sort of good fun. Hang on, listen just a second if you will, they really can be memorable to say the least. Of course I realise full well what you are thinking; school equals homework and such mundane obligations and how on God's good earth can that really be fun, you might be thinking right about now? But studying something you feel very passionate about can be truly inspiring and motivational.

To follow one's real passion and develop and enhance one's skills and professional acumen in the process can be utterly fulfilling and, yes indeed, fun. There, I have said my piece. If you will just consider for instance a good cosmetology school which in all fairness could lead to a career as a beautician or professional in the cosmetology industry.

Now, you see that this could be the answer if you are looking for an excellent and rewarding training course. You may want to look into this if you are interested? This blog post was based on information provided by Blogitive.

Endurance pays off

My fiancée and my step daughter, both lovely, lovely ladies of course, recently invited me, or rather dragged me along on a marathon shopping expedition, featuring several enormous and crowded shopping centres. First of all, allow me to state that, being a bloke, I was pleased when it was finally all over and done with. I did, after all, survive more or less intact, thank heavens for small mercies, that is all I can say, dear readers.

There was a myriad of hand bags to fuss over, clothes stores a plenty to scour for bargains, multitudes of accessories to compare as well as the vast and pungent perfume sections to survey as well, would you believe it. Lunch, in the form of a gorgeous sushi train session was a welcome break, I can tell you that for nothing. And, truth be told, it was nice to spend some time with the two women in my life, even if it was in the pursuit of a pastime that, on the whole, did not impress me one little bit.

In life it is all about give or take and at the end of the day I settled down in front of the box to watch the Rugby World Cup, so it was rather a case of persistence paying off if you like. Of course I could have checked out dealfun.com reviews for an easier way out. If only I’d known..

The ultimate TV fix

I love reading. Whether it is articles, books, newspapers or any other printed medium, I suppose I just like words and text. It is a medium that appeals to me in many ways. Having said that, and I just did, I also have a an eye for the visual element, especially when the imagery displayed is pleasing or aesthetic in some way. Take for instance film or television or online streaming content. There is a world of potentially uplifting content out there and we only have to plug into it, if you think about it.

From a young age, I have been impressed with the medium of television. It amazed me how a show or a film or a discussion programme could just find its way into peoples’ living rooms. It struck me to be some astounding piece of technology, which of course it is. Of course that kind of technology is these days greatly enhanced by things such as IPTV Monitoring as carried out by Sencore with its digital video delivery.

It’s a brave new world alright!

Book shop, me hearties

Check out my writing blog's latest post for some exciting news about my books...

The Gillard

Amazing. Anything and everything The Gillard touches turns to utter crap or a pile of embarrassing shambles but none of it is due to her government's incompetence. It's 'because the Opposition leader is negative', or because 'the Opposition leader has been trying to scare people in regards to the wonderful Labour plans and taxes', or, my personal favourite, because 'she is a woman and is not getting a fair go.' Pull the other one, ginger. People are fed up with a joke for a party and a liar for a PM. The sooner she buggers off into the horizon the better it will be for this country.

The law is what counts

The legal world can be a dazzling maze, a veritable labyrinth that can often times confuse, befuddle and bedazzle those who have, for one reason or another seek recourse to the justice system. Let's face it, it's not easy to deal with legal matters at the best of times, I think you may well agree with me on that one.

A good team of lawyers or solicitors can really and genuinely make a real difference and a great help to those in need of justice or having to deal with a court case. For instance, O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949 are a fabulous firm of personal injury lawyers that truly come highly recommended and it is easy see why. Just consider their outstanding work on high profile legal cases and just look particularly at their superb Topamax lawsuit speciality and you will immediately see that they are the very best team to have on your side.
Well, in addition to my previous post, I just wanted to mention that I was pleased to see young James O'Connor return to the side after a brief disciplinary spat that, in the end, didn't amount to that much, all things considered. He immediately took over the kicking from Quade Cooper and scored an excellent try. Good on him! And good on the Wallabies! Can't wait to see who were playing next.
I just enjoyed some quality television and I will tell you why. It was the start of the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand for the Australian team, the mighty Wallabies. And they faced the Italians, not the leaders in rugby but certainly a good side. And, the Aussies did me proud. In a great second half they dominated the game and ripped with Italians apart, ending up with a total score of 32-6. Yeah!

Law matter

If you are anything like me, then you will agree that of course finding one's self involved in any type of dispute of whatever nature is never really much fun. Far from it. Legal dealings and court issues can be time consuming, expensive, exhausting and also quite emotionally draining. But then life, generally, is a bit like that, would you not say? I would certainly. We resort to the law and the body of rules and regulation when we have pursued all other avenues. But, it is a fact that the law is a complex labyrinth that is not easy to navigate on all one’s onw. That is , after all, why having recourse to a serious minded, trustworthy lawyer can make a world of difference.

For instance, O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949 can really help you out when you find yourself in a legal situation where you require superb professional help.

Find your self a great Austin truck accident lawyer and you will soon see that you stand to gain from the situation that may be troubling you in no time.

Abbott

Not all sure whether Tony Abbott would make a good PM. He seems to be lacking charisma and that certain statesman quality a fine leader needs to be able to convey. But compared to the hapless, clueless Labour clowns currently in office, he's welcome to try his hand as far as I'm concerned.

Victim Hoodie

It's astounding. The feral lay-abouts run amok, torching neighbourhood shops, looting plasma flatscreens and assorted 'life essentials', engage in some light killing and maiming and the usual left-wing clap trap gets brought out again. 'They only wanted a platform, they are demanding a voice, it's society what gone and made them do it.' Basically, the bizarre logic seems to be that the ones who are culpable are not the actual perpetrators, but rather the hard-working middle classes (so despised by English left-wing chattering classes) who pay taxes and have some ambition and a modicum of morality.

It amazes me that the likes of the ABC here in Australia, of course the BBC and the Guardian in the UK, are so keen on turning the wayward feral youths into victims, thus removing all sense of accountability from these groups. Perhaps some are 'disadvantaged'. Would that be a reason perhaps for such an individual to get off their video-game wielding arse, pick up a course or learn a trade and make something of themselves, possibly in spite of the odds? Listening to the liberal geniuses, the obvious course of action is rather to get your mates together and smash the windows of your local shop, loot anything valuable, taking care to destroy as much as possible on the way and then as a final parting gesture torch the livelihood of some hard-working small business man/woman/family. That kind of logic bodes well for the future. Not..

Geek News

Don't you just love the internet? Well, do you? I know I do and I make no bones about, far from it, in fact. The web has just made so many things so much easier and that is in no way an exageration, I think you must surely agree with me on that score. Once upon a time if you needed a phone number for a business in a bit of a hurry you would need to scramble for a telephone directory, hoping you would possess a copy of its most recent edition and thumb your weary way around countless irrelevant and ultimately useless entries before happening on the one number you did, in fact, need.

These days, all the information you could want, or need, is right there, a tap and a click away. Check out, for instance this Geeky Gadgets Site for some outstanding online content and you will in no time see what I am indeed talking about.

Whether it may be an Apple Store coupon or some other switched on or geek-like treasure of goody, it's all right there on this fabulous and quirky site.

If I were you, I honestly would not waste any more precious time and head over to Geekalerts.com for a quick look at what you have been missing out on until now. Check out great Vistaprint coupons and a wealth of news and geeky tips and insights now!

MacMacMac

Just invested in a new iMac as I was getting fed up with Microsoft's user-unfriendly products. I just hated how things on Microsoft just never quite work properly. There is always a glitch or some adjustment needed or patch required. Annoying. So far, I'm really impressed with my iMac. It's just much more intuitive and seems to 'like' the user, if that makes sense..

Lalala

Work is fine, I sometimes tend to think it is a four letter word but, all in all, it's a good feeling to be employed and to take care of my family. I wake up early and start work at 7AM. You get used to it, no worries. And my colleagues are, on the whole, a nice group of people with whom to work. So, all in all, I pay my bills and enjoy my job, that's not bad going in my book..

Palm Beach

Autumnal

Autumn has, up until now, been marvellous and no mistake. Warm, clear days when the sun was still balmy and those lovely blue Sydney skies. Today, though, was altogether different. Stormy winds and a coldish chill. I even noticed some brown leaves in piles along the street on my way home. This is too much like Europe and not at all what I had signed up for when I landed in Botany Bay...

Keeping fit

Life is a funny old thing, isn’t really? Do you agree with me? When you are young you are full of vim and vigour and you feel virtually indestructible, so to speak. At least, that is more or less how I felt for much of my early years. I did sort of feel as though I could really do just about anything and nothing could stop me in my tracks. I took risks every now and then and engaged in some ill advised activities from time to time, and somehow I did sail through all of that glorious turmoil, straight into my early middle ages. Ahum.

My weight was never really a big issue. I was fairly fit and energetic and could also more or less eat whatever I fancied without putting on too much weight. I played sports, a bit of soccer and tennis and I also enjoyed swimming a lot.

These days of course I do need to be a bit more careful with regards to gaining weight and exercising more where possible. When you are a little bit older it is just harder to keep slim as your body just wants you to slow down and take it easy and have a cake. Or two. So it is a bit harder to keep fit and slim. Of course there are many more weightloss and bariatric options to choose from so that does make it easier. I will keep fit, as fit as fit can be!

A night out..

That is entertainment, indeed it is. What is, you may well ask and you would be right to do just that. The theatre, that is. The theatre in all its many dazzling manifestations, now that, truly is, entertainment. And art of course. I marvel at the skills of live stage performers, and the way they hold the audience spellbound and captive. But, we all know full well, that it can be a tad on the pricy side to go and see a live performance. So, if by any chance you are looking for Beacon Theatre tickets or possibly Honda Center tickets then look no further. A Cheap Seat.com will help you get the best seats at the best prices.

After all, you may enjoy at night at the theatre, watching some great play or musical but you do not want it to break the bank, am I right? Check out Madison Square Garden tickets for instance and you will see in the blink of an eye what great value this site can offer to you and yours.

Whether you are in the market for some Nassau Coliseum tickets or even some fabulous Radio City Music Hall tickets it is all here for you to enjoy and, not unimportantly, save some money in the process. That makes seeing live performances a real pleasure if you can make a good saving whilst enjoying a great night out.

Gillard does Korea

Our remarkably ungainly PM Gillard is in Korea marking Anzac Day, paying tribute to our fallen soldiers. That's Labour spin for you: pulling off commemorating the dead young men of many Democratic nations who fought an army representing communist tyranny. They were giving up their lives in combat with her chums. Chapeau, Prime Minister!

Sunday, 24 April 2011

For Marx and Gillard

The Labour government has come up with another whopper. Now we may see Australian women fighting and dying at the front in battle. After all, equality you know? So, it's not bad enough that sometimes our men need to fight, die and kill, now we want our women to engage in the same savagery. Together with abortion and euthanasia I suppose it makes for a nice sense of secular progress. Hmm.

I wonder if we are ready to see women soldiers in body bags returning from Afghanistan or online footage of women soldiers being beheaded by the slightly less politically-correct Taleban. I wonder.

I suppose our PM would not want our boys and girls to die for God, Queen and Country but rather for Marx, Gore and Gillard..

Happy Easter everyone. The Lord is truly Risen..

Studying online

Knowledge is power, or so they say. I certainly have always found that glorious quote to be quite, quite accurate. It is a very big world out there and there is much to learn about how it, and its many diverse inhabitants work. And play, and do just about anything. I have always been fascinated with life and the world and I love to learn as much as I can about just about anything. So, the concept of an Online universities appeals to me in a big way and no mistake.

I would love to find out more about Online degrees in film being of course a big lover of cinema and great films. How good would it be to get up to speed with the art of film making, no doubt about it at all.

Of course, you will want to check out this:
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ Free Application For Federal Student Aid as we all know that while knowledge is power, it can also be rather expensive. So, find out how to apply for some help in the form of federal student aid and before you know it you will be on your way to the best possible online degree programs. You won't regret following my advice and looking into this. Promise!

Making sure my car's alright

I love my car, yes sir I certainly do. I am unashamed in that bold assertion. I love the freedom and convenient transport it provides and also the fact that it enables me to take my family members to all their many and varied destinations on a daily basis. Phew..that was a long sentence. I also like to watch Top Gear but would by no means describe myself as a petrol head or any thing like that. I love driving and I love getting around Sydney, my home town by the ocean. Of course, things such as car insurance can at times seem like a chore to sort out and it comes back every single year.

If you are looking for good and affordable car insurance then you may well want to check out The Buzz Car Insurance. These guys are great and provide an outstanding car insurance package. The great thing is that you can either choose a standard comprehensive package or if you want to customise your insurance as per your requirements then that is the easiest thing of all when you choose The Buzz car insurance. I honestly urge you to check them out.

Cars are expensive. Petrol prices are rising all of the time and road taxes can be fierce as well. Thank Goodness there is such as thing as the fabulous car insurance service of the Buzz that can help normal every day car users like you and me. Life is not exactly cheap these days so when I can get a good deal on a superb product then I will certainly do my best to snap it up if I can. Check them out, you will be glad you did.

The lure of gold

Now come on and be honest and tell me: Is there anything more sweet than the lure of pure gold? Well, what do you reckon? And be honest. There are a million desirable objects, ornaments, artefacts and commodities in the world. But you will have to admit that nothing really comes close to the allure and attraction of something such as having your very own gold IRA and I say so in all honesty.

Gold is an amazing commodity and, let us just face it, in the financial world we have seen some major upheaval as well as some serious uncertainty over the past few years. But if you invested wisely in an IRA gold account, chances are you would have sailed through all the financial and economic turmoil with flying colours. It makes sense, would you not say?

A gold 401k account will see you through those rocky patches that the financial cycle seems to invariably have to inflict on us. Of course, we all do realise that in life there are but few guarantees but some things retain value much more than others.

So if you were considering opening a 401k gold account then you are on the right track. Banks fold, even enormously big banks, currencies fluctuate but gold is gold and will always be one of the most valuable and lucrative assets to own and trade.

So whether it is a gold IRA transfer or any other type of gold IRA account you are after, I would wholeheartedly recommend following through on that most sensible of ventures.

After all, life can be fairly expensive these days. For instance, if you are looking for a great way to access good deals you should check out these great vouchers and then you will soon see what I mean. Walking the walk

Much to my relief I have managed to drop quite a few kilos of weight recently and I cannot really tell you, dear reader, how happy and contented that makes me feel. I am not kidding, it is the truth, I do assure you. For a number of years you see I have carried around with me the typical bulky frame of a man in his early middle age. I did not like it. Some people call it quasi whimsically ‘the battle of the bulge.’ After all, once an average man hits forty years of age, he tends to sport a bit of a spare tire around his waist. And I do not think it is a good luck, to be perfectly honest.

In my younger years I was more involved with sports such as tennis, basketball and soccer. I simply loved football or soccer as we Antipodeans like to call that elegant and athletic game. Tennis was good too and I enjoyed the combination of exertion, speed and skills that it required.

These days, I opt for a more comfortable way to exercise and work out. My lovely fiancée and I regularly go for strenuous walks around this beautiful parkland we like in the neighbourhood. The fresh air, the wildlife, the green scenery all combine to make those walks a genuine pleasure.

Of course, healthy food and a sensible diet is important as well, that almost goes without saying. With the use of a Blender Bottle and a calorie counting recipe book we are set to achieve even more weight loss.

Life is pretty good when you feel good the direction in which you are heading

Glorious rain

Today it rained almost continually and I enjoyed it, I did. When I lived in Holland I hated the cold icy rain in winter. In England I disliked the measly drizzly rain that seemed almost omnipresent. Here in Sydney I simply love it when those tropical rain showers come crashing down. The force of it is just impressive, the sound soothing when I sit on the balcony and just end up mesmerizing myself into a sweet dozy trance. Rain, rain don't go away..

Scrubs

The right gear makes a job in hand a heck of a lot easier to complete. That goes for almost any walk in life. A carpenter will tell you that a properly sharpened chisel makes his work easier, quicker and safer. It makes sense, I think you will agree. A police man will require a fast patrol car, a truncheon, possibly a pistol and, fat chance, a supportive judiciary.

Likewise nursing uniforms are vital for the staff in hospitals to carry out their tasks properly. It makes for a better professional attitude and improves hygiene considerations as well of course.

Whether you all cotton scrubs or any other kind of scrubs, just check out Blue Sky Scrubs for the best available today. Go on, have a look right now!

For the best quality scrubs and the very best in cheap scrub tops you now know you were should go. Simply scoot on over to Blue Sky Scrubs for the very best deals around.

Julia pants on fire

The PM has outed herself as a famous Liar, first saying there would be no carbon tax and once the elections were behind her announcing...a carbon tax. Gotspe? Just another dodgy politician? A Labour PM ruled by the wacky Greens. I should say all of the above would easily apply. As if the cost of living isn't insanely high already we need to pay through the nose for everything even more it would appear. Then, the carbon tax is meant to morph into an ETS or Emissions Trading System or Employment Termination Programme.

Writing forever..

Writing has for ages been a grand passion of mine, it has to be said. Nothing else really gets my attention like text and then more accurately well written text. I just love the original usage of words, a deft turn of phrase or an image or metaphor that hits where it hurts. To me, that is just a wonderful way to celebrate the mind and the heart, both being invaluable tools of any creative writer.

With the onset of the digital age it became easier to write, by simply making advances in typing itself, the mere act of typing text became more sophisticated and user friendly. I remember banging out reams of text on type writers, albeit electronic ones, and having a devil of a time trying to correct errors and typos that had slipped me by.

And then of course, Halleluja, we had the first text processors and lateron computers, lap tops and the ever evolving word processing programmes that were available.

Things like blog layouts and website design became important to know about as were HTML and CSS. I love my blogs and it affords me a smooth outlet for whatever occupies my mind at any given moment. I can include pictures, video or other image based material, but to me the written word will always prevail.

Fans

Tried to have some ceiling fans installed. A tidy selection of doubtless able electricians had a look at it, some quoting large amounts, some being more realistic. In the end, it turned out to be too difficult to hang 3 basic ceiling fans. Oh well. Summer is over anyway so we'll just quietly forget about the whole thing. Time to put on a jumper more like kind of weather..

Mini voice recorder

Some men, and yes to be honest and egalitarian, some women just plain adore a great looking gadget. They can not get enough of it. They may hunt high and low for the very next big thing to come along. Just look at some of the keen and eager faces in the crowd whenever some major computer company launches another invention or innovation. I used to know someone who was always first to get involved with some technical fad or other. When most of us were still carrying our brick like cassette walkman players around with us he would be rigging up a basic computer to the most basic of dial up connections to something called ‘the net’. Ah happy days.

And yet, I too admire advancement in the technological arena, I certainly do. For instance, I loved how crisp the image on the screen became when watching a film on the DVD format. I also quite enjoy working on my lap top computer, there, I have said it. And useful instruments such as a state of the art digital voice recorder is always good to have if you have such requirements.

The world has changed and it will be this way from now on. People are getting used to demanding the best from their technology and why shouldn’t they, really?
A professional manufacturer of security products would be my personal choice if I were to consider purchasing a voice recorder, that much is certain.

It's the law

Being involved in any kind of dispute of whatever nature is never fun. Far from it. Legal wranglings and issues can be time consuming, expensive, exhausting and emotionally draining. Life, generally, is a bit like that, isn’ it? I would say so. We resort to the law and the body of rules and regulation when we have pursued all other avenues. But, it is a fact that the law is a complex labyrinth that is not easy to navigate on all one’s onw. That is why having recourse to a trustworthy lawyer can make a world of difference.

For instance, O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949 can really help you out when you find yourself in a legal situation where you require superb professional help.

Find your self a great Austin personal injury attorney and you will soon see that you stand to gain from the situation that may be troubling you in no time.

A great diet

I suppose we have all seen the endless reams of news footage showing obese people walking in busy streets as a way to illustrate one of modern society's most pervasive ills. A serious sounding voice over will declaim some stern set of statistics and a medical professional or other rent a quote is wheeled out to say something vaguely worthy and perfunctory.

But, of course, it remains true that being over weight is no laughing matter for the person in question. Whether the cause of this particular condition is self inflicted or not is somehow more or less irrelevant. The fact is that someone who is obese or even just somewhat over weight is leading an unhealthy life and in most cases would love to lose a few pounds if only they knew how to do this.

It might be worthwhile to check out HCG for a real and lasting solution. This natural hormone can really help people who want to lose weight in a responsible way.

Just have a look at what the HCG diet can do for you and take heart. There is a solution out there.

Life

To stand out, to make one’s mark in life, that surely would have to be a serious and imperative motive in any young spark’s strategy to conquer the world. To make the most of what the world has to offer and to go out and show what talents may have lain dormant previously. Bring it all out in to the open and set the stage alight with what your heart and soul possess in abundant measure.

It is true that I tend to wax lyrical when given but half a chance but I do feel this to be a genuine observation and one which I hold dear, truth be told and no mistake. Life is short, all too short perhaps, and you do not really get that many chances to make your mark on the cosmic canvas in such a way that it will endure. For some of the greats have managed to grasp this nettle and fashion something grand that stand out down the aeons and across the many diverse nations on this azure globe.

From the merest well crafted business cards to a smart and somewhat awe inspiring company logo design how one presents one’s self is often what truly matters. People perceive a certain manner and will generally look for a measure of composure, seek out a sign of confidence as those are the qualities that attract and inspire.

Oh well..life and lemons and all that, eh?

Glass

A Heart of Glass..do you remember that whimsical Blondie track? There were times in my life when I felt as though I had a heart of glass. But of course, glass also makes for a very beautiful material for artefacts and jewellery did you know that, dear readers.

Just check out these fabulous glass pendants and you will see for yourself. I know my fiancée is always over the moon when I present her with a nice surprise gift of some jewellery of some kind.

Just think back to the days of Venetian glass blowers and the wonderful art they were able to fashion from that most elusive and transparent material. It truly is amazing what you can do with glass if you have the skills and creativity. Check it out now, you will be blown away, if you pardon the pun.

Vive la difference

THE DIFFERENCE IF YOU MARRY AN AUSTRALIAN GIRL

Three friends married women from different parts of the world.....

The first man married a Greek girl. He told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning.
It took a couple of days, but on the third day, he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.

The second man married a Thai. He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking.
The first day he didn't see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table.

The third man married a girl from Australia . He ordered her to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal.
He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything either but by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher. He still has some difficulty when he pees.

Contrasts

What an astounding continent. A ginormous cyclone in North Queensland, disastrous flooding further south in the same state, flash flooding and incredible thunderstorms in Victoria and meanwhile in Perth in WA bush fires have claimed forty homes and are raging in the suburbs.

Compared to all that the recent heatwave here in Sydney was a minor concern. Still, we're all thankful for the cool change that set in yesterday arvo after a week of temperatures around forty degrees centigrade. It was too hot to do anything much, too hot for the beach if you can believe that. Enjoying the cool breeze coming into the house right now seems like a luxury.

Flaming

Bloody hot Australia Day. Congrats to all Aussies, new and old. It's a scorcher, just about to have some lunch and no doubt a cool stubbie lateron. Wish I had a pool to poodle in, just have to make due with the harbour breezes and my biggest fan.

Telly

I used to really enjoy watching television, I did. Of course, that was in the days before reality tv, to be sure. Still, I love my 26 inch TV, it's a blast and make no mistake mister.
