I'm currently reading Fascination by William Boyd. I've only just started but immediately I'm drawn in by his succint yet highly evocative style. His vivid economic use of language instantly paints a picture, sets the scene, and his themes are always intriguing. I wish I could get around to reading more. I don't really have a hectic lifestyle. It' s more that I don't often muster the required frame of mind in which I can settle down for a few hours, with nothing on my mind other than the pleasure of reading for a while. It just doesn't happen very often. I just need to go on holiday more and lounge around by a swimming pool, reading while my tan gently bronzes to a fine golden brown. Yeah right!
