Alluring

We all well know that there are obviously many people out there who have all sorts of hobbies and enjoy spending their valuable leisure time on them. And then of course other people have passions they cannot possibly do without. These leisurely pastimes or spare time pursuits may be whatever you like or please. Some like collecting postal stamps, some other more sporty types go for long hikes in the country, yet others love quiet reading and writing and so on and so forth.

However a hobby or personal interest can sometimes be quite lucrative as well. For instance, if you are into buying and selling gold coins you could really be on to something good I tell you. If you buy gold coins you are on to a winner. Experts in rare coins such as for example Monaco can present you opportunities that are available for you on the rare coin market right now. This could be well worth looking into and it may well be very profitable as well. And that's no small change.

A media hard drive is a fine thing to own, that much is certain. After all, with so much content available these days it is paramount to find convenient ways of storing all those lovely items we all cherish so much. I am sure you will agree. Right?

Tech

Funny thing, technology really, when you look at it. Amazing applications have seen the light in recent years. For instance, if you have acquired network hard drive recently you will have seen how important it is to get 'the right gear'. Make sense, really..

Insurance is assurance

Insurance is assurance, that is what I say and I am always right. Well sometimes and in this instance I think it is true. The fact that you know you are insured well makes for a measure of self assuredness that is hard to beat. You just need to know that you can deal with all the slings and arrows that Fate may throw at you. We all know that life is precarious and that bad adversity tends to strike at the most inopportune moments, I think most of us will have had some experience with that aspect of daily life in the modern world.

So, we can safely say that it is a good idea to get some Term Life Insurance to cover all bases, so to speak.

Furniture heaven

Are you in the market for some furniture shopping? Go on, I bet you are, are you not. Well then, we have all been there, shopping till we drop and still not finding exactly what we had set our hearts on to begin with. But to be honest, shopping is not my all time favourite pastime to say the least. My fiancee always laughts when she describes my type of shopping behaviour: in like Flynn and like a military operation I am out of there in no time. It is a speed race and I do not mess about. I do not compare endlessly, dilly dallying until the cows come home before I make a decision. Do I like it? Yes? Well I will purchase the item in question and get the hell out of the nightmarish shopping centre.

But it does not necessarily have to be that way. Some stores are really good and provide a personal and reliable service that will change your mind about your image of retail hell forever. For instance, you might be wanting to buy some bedroom sets or other items of furniture. If so check our My New Furniture Store for some tax free purchases, safe shopping and more besides. They have a great nice site so have a look for your self and you will see what I mean.

Life sure is grand

Life is wonderful. Is it? I certainly believe so. Being a poet I suppose I am simply in awe with creation and in love with life. Smitten, you could easily say. And yes, do not worry, I have seen the darker sides of life as well, times when things were very tough and the outlook was distinctly gloomy. But even in those sullen periods I loved life still. Nothing can remove for me the lure and the splendour that overlays life itself. But perhaps that is just me. I think I am just an old school Romantic at heart if I am absolutely honest for a moment.

Of course, even poets need to do things such as Buy Life Insurance and pay the electricity bills, that much is certain. The mundane side of life is not to underestimated. Ignore the workaday demands at your peril, is my advice and I think it is sound advice.

Life is an amazing thing. Last night, after a tropical day in Sydney, I looked at the heavens and it was a master piece in every single way. Purple and pink clouds, strips of silver and white in between and every shade imaginable was on show on that greatest canvas of all.

Future

Surely one of the many images that are associated with real luxury and wealth remains the alluring commodity that is gold coins. Through United States Gold Bureau
you can invest in gold bars, gold bullion, coins, and many other products as well. Of course, as everyone knows, to buy gold coins is usually one of the safest options that will keep its worth long into the future.

As a matter of fact, buying gold has been recognized for ages and ages as one of the most trusted ways to preserve one’s wealth and assets. And of course gold bullion is a unique investment. From time immemorial to more recent times, humankind has had an enduring affinity with gold bullion that has truly stood the test of time. In all ages and across the world, people have been fascinated with the beauty and the magic of gold. Nowadays the beauty of a gold bar must lie in its proven capacity to diversify investments, to protect wealth and also to preserve one’s purchasing power.
Gold, for instance gold krugerrands
is perennially a great investment and one on which you can rely now and in the future. That's for sure.

The Droning One

Prime Minister Gillard has gone on her first visit to an Asian country and of course she chose a communist one for this auspicious privilege. Have they not suffered enough? She could have gone to North Korea I suppose. She might have felt quite at home in that madman’s hideaway paradise. Oh well. Her droning voice would have inflicted enough damage in Vietnam for now.

Summer in Sydney

The sun is out today and at long last it looks like summer has arrived in Sydney. It is warm and pleasant, butterflies swirl around the plants on the verandah, the sky is blue and I am truly happy. I cannot wait to swimming again as that is something we always do regularly in summer time. Yeah, baby!

Glittering prize

What would it be like to be truly rich? I do not claim to know. I am certainly not destitute and I have every thing I could possibly want to live a good healthy life. But sometimes I just cannot help wondering what it would be like to be genuinely affluent. I think most of us have done so at certain times in our respective lives.

There are ways of investing that can certainly bring increased fortune.
For instance, you could buy gold coins and watch while your investments increase. This is something that would be easy enough to do.

Check you the American Gold Eagle Coins for a great investment option. It makes sense after all to invest in something solid and sound. That is the bottom line, after all.

The United States Gold Bureau is a great organisation to contact if you are serious about investing in gold in any form. Check out the website for more details.

The home retreat

I love my home. I love coming home after a hard slog at work and enjoying the peace and sanctuary of my very own abode. Although I am not a huge talent when it comes to home decorating I can certainly find some satisfaction in the simple act of putting up some pictures or choosing some furniture. I am very fond for instance of my coffee coloured leather sofa. It is truly a joy to sit down and take a load off. Home is where the heart is, after all. Or was that home is where the hearth is?

At any rate, whatever your home or apartment looks like, whether it is furnished in minimalist style, using sleek lines or whether you have opted for western furniture, we all need a haven to retreat to from the big bad world, I think we can all agree on that mildly obvious but no less vital fact.

When I come home, I first switch on the old trusted computer to see what on earth is happening in the online world that we are now all virtually a part of, after all. Then I tend to make myself a sweet cup of strong black coffee and find refuge on the above mentioned coffee coloured sofa. Music accompanies this little retreat into my own world until dinner needs contemplating.

The arts, my passion

The arts have always had my fascination. I was always impressed with the way creative people seem to be able to turn the mundane into the miraculous, the prosaic into poetry. And that is why I chose early on to engage myself in several creative pursuits. I remember purchasing my very first typewriter and sitting behind it, feeding it a magical empty white sheet of paper and penning my first poems, inevitably replete with teenage angst and forlorn anguish.

I also spent many happy hours painting in oil colours whilst living in Amsterdam. I still quite fond of some of these pictures that saw the light during that phase in my life. Writing, painting and, another passion of mine, photography are all important to me. I know little (too little) of the technical aspects of photography but I comfort myself with the thought that I do know how to take a good image and with the fact that I have an eye for composition and perspective.

Another thing I found out was how it can sometimes be beneficial to exchange ideas with likeminded fellow artists. That is why joining a Photography Forum or some other discussion platform for the arts can be really rewarding.

Scrubs

We all love the hit comedy show Scrubs, right? I know I do. I think the antics of the hospital staff are utterly entertaining and downright funny to say the least. It does not make me want to work in a hospital but I enjoy the humour and bonhomie of the interaction between the characters with all their ups and downs and all the quirky mayhem that usually features in any given episode. Of course, scrubs are a real enough item that medical staff anywhere are quite familiar with, I think that is understood.

If you happen to be looking for discounted scrubs then you may want to check out Blue Sky Scrubs for the best deals in good value, good quality scrubs. Check out the site and you will be truly amazed at what they can offer you, I kid you not. Have a look for your self and you will see.

Any kind of medical clothing or scrub sets are best sourced from Blue Sky Scrubs. Very soon you will be sporting a practical and smart looking set of scrubs and you will cut a fine figure, that is for sure. Give Blue Sky Scrubs a go and you will not be disappointed. You might even end up in your very own episode of ‘Scrubs’.

Building

I love life, I really do, I am not kidding by any means. I love waking up in my nice house and starting the brand new day with gusto. Of course it is not always a happy laughing boy that greets the day like this but in general I feel rather happy and content with my life. And I am thankful for that, I really am and I would not say that lightly mind you. But life also brings its challenges, of course, that is just par for the course. After all, bills need to be paid, chores carried out and apart from that there is a plethora of responsibilities to be considered on a daily basis. The rent needs to be paid and I need to work hard to provide for my family. All that goes without saying, I suppose.

But it all adds up. My own father and mother built their very own house out there in the Western suburbs. We have family film footage of them hammering away, putting together their own home which is an amazing thing in my mind. My dad was a builder and a house painter and he was very good with carpentry and just putting one and one together. Whether it would be Chinese drywall or any other kind of Do It Your self project, he was the man for the job. I still admire him for that as I myself have no such acumen in that particular field.

But you cannot do every thing and some people are better at doing certain things than others. That is only natural. Oh well, not to worry, we all have our strong points and weaker sides as well. That is just the way it is, no worries mate!

Cars, cars, cars

Cars are a very handy commodity, you will have to agree, I think. Where I live, in a major Australian city, you really could not do without having a motor care, I think it is fair to day, all things considered. The distances are just to great and if you need to get around then you will have to have access to a car. I have quite a modest car and do not go in for the fad of driving a super sized four wheel drive along urban streets and roads. But of course, running a car can also be quite expensive, I suppose there are a lot of costs involved, that is for sure.

If you need a repair of any kind carried out I would recommend a quality outfit that can help you out and do a great job for you and for reasonable prices.

Whether you need a Houston auto repair or you are located somewhere else, it pays to choose the right garage or repair company.

Consider for instance Acura TL and you will see what I mean. Not many people know exactly a lot about car mechanics or car engines. I know I sure don't and I have to rely on what others tell me. That is why it is so important to opt for a trustworthy company that can do a reliable job for you so you are back on the road again in no time with no worries.

It can be a little simple thing such as an oil change but it needs doing to make sure your car keeps running smoothly. A reliably car makes for a happy motorist and having the right kind of repair shop work on your much loved vehicle can make all the difference. You know what I mean, I'm sure.

Or even if it is just a brake job that needs doing, choose a reliable outfit and you will soon be whizzing along the freeway again and that is what you want, after all, isn't it? Nothing is more annoying than having car trouble but a good garage will take care of your car's problem in a quick and efficient manner and won't charge you a fortune either.

I love my care and also need it for work. It gets me around town and without it my fiancee and I would have a real job on our hands getting all our tasks done. Happy motoring all!

Golden times

I happen to be one of those peculiar customers who do not really like to carry around with them a large amount of loose change in whatever denominations. There, I have said it, it is out there. My wallet, whilst full of things beside hard cash, does not even contain a separate section for any coins to be stored away. I am that hard core, dear listeners, and I do not care who knows it, truly and verily.

But I could be persuaded to find a keen eye and an appreciation for gold coins if truth be told. Gold coins can be an amazing asset in these times of financial and economic turmoil. Let us face it, in life not many things are certain and besides death and taxes, gold coins are certainly up there as well, I think you must concede.

Check out the fantastic United States Gold Bureau to find out more and to see how you can invest in gold and gold coins. You will not regret it, I tell you.

Dreaming time

Dreams is funny mate. Do you not agree with me, gov? Last night, for instance, I was dreaming my family owned a large German Shepard dog. The dog was German, you could tell, because he talked with a broad Teutonic accent, was very impatient and arrogant and always left his towel on the sun lounger by the swimming pool in the mornings while at holiday. But I digress as I am wont to do, it is true. It was a lovely dog and very affectionate and, at least for the duration of this quirky dream, I loved it dearly. Oh and there was something about a man with a hair piece as well, the finer details of that sub plot elude me now in the harsh light of day. Never mind.

Sunny within

The sun is shining, my darling fiancée is right by my side and life is pretty darn good right now. Of course, there is work to be done, that goes without saying almost (so why did I say it?) but all is well in my kingdom right now and for that blissful fact I give thanks.

In politics nothing is new. The left is hypocritical, the right indignant and I would not trust either faction to tell me the time of day. But hey, who cares? Right?

Medical matters matter

After a life time of accompanying family member to hospitals and doctor's surgeries, it may come as small suprise that I do not really enjoy medical trivia or hospital visits. But life is life and some times you just need to get on with things, there is no other way at times, I think you know the score. A family member recently had to undergo a knee reconstruction and she is recovering very well for which we are very grateful indeed, that is only to be expected. She had the procedure carried out in a private hospital and she had a good standard of care, something for which we are equally thankful.

But operations such as these do not always go according to plan unfortunately. Imagine having to lodge a DePuy Hip Replacement lawsuit or some other legal suit. For many people that is also a reality that they have to face. Life sure is tricky sometimes and although you would not want to pursue every avenue in the case of a grievance or complaint generally, medical matters are too important to just ignore. If you do you could make a big mistake and you do not really want to take any chances with your health, now do you?

Beaches

I love Sydney and I love her beaches. My favourite so far, and that may well change as I get to know more, is Manly Beach. People rave about Bondi but I prefer taking the slow ferry to Manly and watching the waves of the Pacific roll in. It is a joy to see the surfers do their thing and just chill out whilst riding the waves on their sleek boards. It is quite a life style, I have to admit, that much is certain. Sydney, sun and the ocean, that is my sort of thing, it's official. Now I'm off to the beach with my bucket and spade. Here I go!

Depts

As we speak I am entertaining the plumber who has come round to fix our blocked drains. Flaming heck. We had some trouble with the pipes recently and he came out and spent a few hours digging up the drains round the back of the property. All very annoying. We live at the ground floor of a small apartment block and apparently it is always the ground floor that cops the clogged drains. Lucky us indeed! But he is a good bloke and I am sure he will fix the problems we are having. He turned up early as well which is good so it hopefully should not be too long. Here's hoping!

Investing, the right way

You will of course realise that there is a huge number of superb opportunities to invest out there in the market place. After all I think that goes without saying. However I believe we can also assert that some investments are more secure than some others, all things considered and at the end of the day. But that is just my opinion, let’s face it dear readers. What is more, some investment options are also more fun to be dealing with would you believe it.

Consider for instance the idea of investing in gold coin. Collecting gold coins is fun and a great sound investment. But, I hear you say: where to start? Where to begin this exciting pursuit? This is where the United States Gold Bureau can help you out big time. They have amazing staff all ready to help you. They can help you build up an outstanding investment portfolio. Check them out and you will see what I mean. It makes sense, you will see.

Become an investor in gold bullion and never look back. You really cannot beat it for a sound investment commodity. We all know of the durability and reliability of gold bullion as an investment. That is simply how sound it is from whichever way you look at it. You know it makes sense

City

Just spent the last few days showing my family from overseas around our beautiful city. We took them on the Manly Ferry and had a superb meal at Darling Harbour with a view of the fireworks of the Latin Festival that was being held there. It was wonderful to show off our great town to my family and they loved every minute of it I think. We also showed them Bondi Beach which they loved very much as well.

Now they're off travelling around the country and I hope they'll have a great time seeing Australia up close. Ripper!

Visit

My lovely niece and her husband are visiting from overseas later in the week and I hope it will be a great trip for them. It will be great to see them again as it has been a few years and I miss my niece. She is sweet young woman and I am intending to make sure it will be a great visit to my new home town for them both. They got married not so long ago so it is also still a bit of a honeymoon for the young lovers, I reckon. I will be recommending they do the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb which is an amazing thing to do when you find your self in our fair city. Lots of fun, that is for sure.

Footie

We just had the NRL grand finale last week. It was sort of exciting as it clearly meant so very much to an awful lot of people around Sydney. I was sorry the Tigers weren't in the finale as that would have been my local team. But it's a funny sort of sport is rugby league. Apart from the odd try here and there I find it quite boring. Blokes endlessly running into other blokes, and some wrestling to the ground. Then they get up and do the exact same thing all over again. And again. And again. There doesn't seem to be that much skill involved so I think I prefer rugby union and soccer to be honest.

Golden dreams of plenty

Well, are hobbies just for the geeks who shall inherit this earth? Of course not, we all know full well that there are a lot of people out there who have hobbies and who enjoy spending their valuable leisure time engaged with them. Some other people have strong passions they cannot live without. These leisurely pastimes or free time pursuits can involve a huge range of interests and activitities. There are those that enjoy collecting postal stamps, some go for long bracing hikes in the countryside, yet others simply love reading and writing and so on and so forth ad infinitum.

On the other hand, a hobby or personal interest can at times be rather lucrative as well. For instance, if you are into buying and selling gold coin you could really be on to a winner, make no mistake. Experts in rare coins such as for instance United States Gold Bureau can present you with superb opportunities that are available for you on the gold coin market as we speak. Let me just assure you that this could be well worth looking into and it may well prove to be very profitable as well. Do check it out right now!

Rainy city

The city was a rainy conglomerate and so unlike my sunny seaside metropole. I hope it clears up soon as we have some family members coming over from abroad for a visit. Hopefully we can show them around our fair city with a bit of sunshine to brighten up things for us. That would be nice, for to be sure. Meanwhile, work is work and it keeps me out of mischief, or so they say, don't they? I thought they did. Just tell me if they didn't, I won't mind. Descending into gibberish again, are we? Looks like it. Signing off now..more later.

Accutane Lawsuit

The law is the law. That is for sure. And for normal people, caught up in the every day cares and worries of just getting on with things, the world of the law can seem very confusing and opaque. In normal circumstances this does not really matter that much. We just scratch our heads over the intrigue and intricacies of things like LA Law on television and do not worry too much about how it all works.

However, if you ever find your self in some kind of legal bind or other, you may have to get a crash course in the fundamentals of how the legal system works for you when needed.

Golden dream

Who knows what life can offer? I think that really most people have, at some stage or other, entertained dreams of what it could possibly be like to be really affluent. One of the many images that convey genuine luxury and riches has to be the sight of those amazing gold items that are so impressive to just look at such as jewellery and art objects. At
Investing in gold bars, gold bullion, coins, silver, platinum and palladium and other products can be a great option. Moreover as everyone surely knows, investing in gold is generally one of the safest options bound to keep their worth in years to come. You can’t really go wrong with gold, that much is certain.

To be honest, on the whole, it is usually a very good idea to keep yourself informed of the current gold price. Purchasing gold has been recognized for ages and ages as one of the most reliable ways to preserve one’s wealth and buying power. And of course gold bullion is a unique investment. From time immemorial to more recent modern times, humankind has had an enduring affinity with gold bullion that has truly stood the test of time.

Moving house

Love is all around me, and so the feeling goes. That is what the near immortal song tells us is it not? Well, my life is replete with love and that is a most enchanting and wonderfully amazing feeling. I have been walking on sunshine and dancing around, all the while high on life and simply put just completely smitten. But, lovely as this rosy tinted feeling may be, there will always remain the practical side of life. You know what I am talking about, just the normal every day cares and worries, just getting on with life on a day by day basis in all of its glory and also all of its at times frustrating detail and what have you.

This is just life and it is a wonderful thing to be alive and in love and to know that you are loved to such a degree. That is why I love to take care of my family and make sure they are comfortable and happy as can be. For instance we recently moved house and as such this is a brand new start for us which in itself is very exciting. But it also brings with it some practical implications and we have had to scramble to get the move over and done with in a short space of time. We have purchases some lovely Contemporary Furniture and have just now ordered a nice big dining table to be crafted. So, you see, it is all good as we Aussies like to say. It is all good and life is wonderful.

Halloween Thrills

Yes, dear or mere mortals, that time of year is coming upon us once again. The witching hour, the time when the veil is lifted for a moment to allow a glimpse into another world, the nether world of ghosts and ghoulies, critters and spectres. Do not go walking alone on abandoned moors or heath lands or on cemetaries at midnight. What am I talking about you may well ask? Well, Halloween of course, what else? Yes, the streets will once gain be filled with skeletons, pointy withes' hats complete with the odd broom stick, monsters and munsters and what have you?

When I lived in England the whole notion of trick or treat was criticises at times as an unnecessary American import but I think it is sort of fun as long as it does not get out of hand. I know for a fact that children love to be thrilled by something a bit spooky. Hence the immense success of some of the late Roald Dahl's books for instance. Children are little people but can be quite matter of fact and even mature in their approach to the big questions in life.

So, by alll means let us have a great time this Halloween. Let us spook one another silly, chill our selves to the bone, shiver with delight at the strangeness in the air. It is only once a year after all and it does go back to an ancient tradition, at least in the Celtic countries. I am sure you can come up with some Awesome Halloween Costumes Ideas to make a really big impact this year. Let us do it!

Dating

Love is in the air..it certainly is. Love is all you need..and then some. Sure love is a wonderful magical thing that should never be taken for granted. After all it is elusive and enchanting and all enveloping when it is right, that is for darn sure. And there are many kinds of love, did you ever consider that? There is the solid love between a man and a woman, a sound foundation to build a family on. Then there is also the love of a parent for his or her child and of course the love that a child had in its little heart for its father or mother. Between brothers and sisters in differering permutations exists a love that can at times become frayed. Familiarity breeding contempt and all that jazz.

The love of God for his people and the extent to which that higher love is reciprocated are notions that are crucial, even if lots of people can't bring themselves to realise it. The truth remains the same, none the less.

I met my fiancee while browsing the personal adds on a dating website. We do not mind telling people that this is the way in which we first met. After all, it does not matter how you get to meet up as long as you do. Check out the personals charlottetown if do not know what I mean. Love is the air as the song goes. And let us all hope that song never stops singing. Here is to love in all its many splendid manifestations. All of them are precious.

Shopping..ah

My wife and I recently moved to a new unit. What is a unit I hear you ask. Well, a unit is an apartment, a flat if you will. It is a marked improvement and yes, dear readers, we are very happy with our little family in our new abode. Of course, moving to a new place invariably means..shopping. Oh yes, shopping has been the motto of the day on quite a few occasions. And me being a typical bloke, I can say that the pleasure, at times, was not all mine, but that is neither here nor there. Oh well. A new house means a fresh new start and of course to do that you need a few new things, that is obvious.

Whether you are in the market for western furniture, a new book case or some lovely fresh bed linen, it all helps to make that adjustment to the new residence and to convey a sense of a brand new start. It's all good, as the Aussies say. Funny thing that shopping by the way, whenever I find myself in some shop in a shoppin centre with my better half I tend to see other blokes with their ladies, looking just as weary and lost as I sometimes feel during those expeditions. It is the way of the world, I think, and it will probably always be thus.

I love the new house and it is really a brand new start so it's a nice feeling to be here together. Shopping? Never mind..

Trade is the name of the game

Business, that is the name of the game. Oh yeah! I love the fact that I live in a country where you can just go out and make a buck by sheer wit, hard work and some good luck thrown in. We have seen other economic systems crumble and yes I was a happy camper when I witnessed the demise of communism in the late eighties. It was a work of art and a joy to behold. For decades the eastern European countries had suffered from this imposed system, so infantile and repressive in its conception and application. We, in the West, used to see news footage of scenes in Poland or Bulgaria where huge lines of putative customers would line up in front of shoe shops after news had broken in town that a few pairs of shoes had arrived from Moscow, likewise crowds would descend on butcher shops at hearing some chops had become available. As an economic construct it was moronic. No incentive to do your job well. Do an appalling job? Does not matter, no one will fire me just for that. And there is no competion anyway. Do a great job and you don't get rewarded.

Why would anyone apply themselves? There was no unemployment because all the unemployed were rounded up and put in the army. Nice. Anyway, my belief is that capitalism is nothing other than trade. And trade is as old as humankind and will always be the one system that works. One hand washes the other, that is the bottom line, after all.

Whether you need fitness business cards, a clown suit, rubber chickens or beef pies; you can buy whatever you want or need. Oh yeah!

Computers and Broderick

Have you heard of a thing called Internet? What is this interweb everyone keeps talking about for heaven's sake, I ask you verily. Well now, there once was a time when all of us forty somethings did not know the first thing about computers or the internet or that pesky phenonomen of social media. I remember as a teenager watching American films, usually starring Matthew Broderick, in which our United States fellow adolescents would be depicted being moody up in their rooms, comfortable as they always seemed (the rooms, not the teens) and already furnished with a bulky looking personal computer. It seemed so advanced when the best we could do in little old Holland was mess around with a lowly games computer that was just one step up from Pong, the funny table tennis game that, truth be told, I still like.

Many years have passed, gather around little oned and grand dad is going to tell you a mighty story and so on. No, but seriously the internet has changed lives forever. These days when I need to find out about something I just look online, often using that well known search engine. Once the only recourse would have been to make endless phone calls, trying to locate some service or business that you were in need of in a hurry or otherwise.

So whether it is linux web hosting or any other kind of information technology requirement, it is all out there for you. I am sure you know how to find what you are looking for. Tap, tap on your keyboard and you are there, no worries, mate!

Love in a cold climate

For me, life and love are miraculous notions. But then I am a poet and I am truly enchanged with life and the glorious creation, with its many wonderful manifestations that I confront on a daily basis. If I did not think life was special or even magical in any way I would see little point in living to be brutally frank. I do not really think the reductionist relativism that pervades large sections of the Western world these days is very healthy. To me it seems quite pathological. Consider for instance the vehement vitriol poured onto believers by people who are atheist evangelicals. They get really upset at the very thought that there are huge numbers of people out there who do believe in a higher force. If they honestly believed their lack of faith was justified and that religion and spirituality were just nonsense, then why are they getting so worked up about it? Very suspicious.

I cannot hold with a philosophy that claims that life as we know is a mere cosmic accident and inherently meaningless in every way. Also, it seems much more far fetched as well to believe that this dazzling creation just happened for no reason at all, even though as far as we know there is nothing on planets around us to compare even remotely to what we have on our hands right here on terra firma. Ah well.

But love is love and love is grand and I wonder what an atheist makes of the concept of love. A mere chemical reaction? I wonder. And what would atheist dating look like? Good luck to them anyway. It takes all kinds and we are all God's children after all, even if we don't realise it. Yet.

Investing the right way

Perhaps it is true to say that most if not all of us have, at some point, dreamt of what it would be like to be very rich, really rich. One of the many images that are associated with real luxury and abundant wealth remains the enticing commodity that is gold bullion. It is now so easy to invest in gold bars, gold bullion, coins, silver, platinum and palladium and many other products as well. The sky is the limit. And of course, as everyone knows, investing in gold is always one of the safest options that will keep its worth over a long period of time.

To be honest, buying gold has been recognized over the ages and ages as one of the most trusted ways to preserve one’s wealth and assets in a volatile world.
Purchasing gold bullion is truly a great investment and one on which you can rely now and in the future, that much is certain.

Driving in my car

Cars. Does anyone remember that great Gary Numan song? It was a cracker, that is for sure. All eighties synthesizers and electro pop but so incredibly cool. Somewhere in that track we hear the lyrics: 'I feel safe in my car', or words to that effect, hey come on, I'm merely paraphrasing, alright? Okay then. Well, it is true that the confines of a car can create the illusion of comfort and seclusion, even sanctuary, would you Adam and Eve it already? That, I suppose, is why you regularly see people get up to all sorts while in their car. It is so easy to forget you are still more or less in a public space, even though you are tootling along, listening to your favourite cools sounds and what have you.

All through my life I have owned a car on and off. There have been times where I had to rely on public transport and honestly did not mind that either. Being driven around by someone else who has to watch the traffic is not so bad really. But these days I once again own a car because the family needs one and I have to have a car to get to my place of work. And I love my car. Knock on wood, but so far it has been very reliable. I love driving in this country much better than I ever used to in Europe and the United Kingdom where people are just mad in traffic and the roads are so much narrower. Not for me, mate.

Whether you are looking for a Used Land Rover Tempe or a snazzy hatchback like I was, shopping around for a car is not always that easy so it is good to find a reliable outlet where you are sure to get some decent service. That at least is my experience.

Cars, eh? We blokes could talk about them until the cows come home. No, really!

Celtic festivals

Samhain, a name that conjures up all manner of spooky nightmares, spectres and shades. Verily, I tell thee, you can almost hear the banshees shrieking, the witchy witch flying on her broomstick against the backdrop of a harrowing fiery moon. Brrr!
Yes, dear readers, Halloween is not far off now. Once again the year turns towards that time when the veil between our world and the next is wafer thin and almost porous, letting the daring travellers criss cross between the two. The old pagan Celtic festival is, indeed, very ancient, and I have no doubt that the druids of old used to lay on quite a spectacle for the awe struck revellers.

Of course, thanks to American popular culture, Halloween nowadays means little kiddies dressing up and trick or treating. The custom was exported and while I lived in the United Kingdom, we used to have trick or treaters ringing our door bell a few times over the years. I never minded. It seemed like a fun enough thing to do and you would usually see the parents standing behind the little urchins keeping an eye on things. Of course, there were also stories of tricks being played, disgruntled trick and/or treaters who would come back and pelt the house with rotten eggs. Nasty!

If you are looking for HalloweenDecoration Ideas there is a lot of inspiration to be found in the actual Celtic mythology of the festival. Have fun!

Life and so on

Life sure as heck is complicated, is it not? I ask you. I think I am not stating anything too controversial with that remark, I am sure. Anything could happen at any given moment and we cannot see what is waiting for us around any old corner; that much is certain. None of us can see into the future and we just have to do our best with what slender measure of knowledge that we may think we possess about our situation, our lives, our position in the great chess game that we call existence. Wow, that is really deep, I hear you mutter in weary despair. Not so, it is just that you can never really be certain that anything untoward will not befall you when you least expect it.

Of course, this does not at all mean that you should huddle in a corner of your room, frenzied and anxious and scared to go out into the big bad world. No way, Jose!
That is not how life works. I love the old adage, fortune favours the brave, and so it is. But even the most courageous among us may find themselves in a spot of bother or hot water from time to time.

When that happens it is good to know there is something like Family Attorney Austin to fall back on. Legal matters can be troublesome but if you get the right kind of help it can make a huge difference, that’s for sure.

Warm and fuzzy

Where you live is important in so many ways. These days, dear friends, I live in a lovely country with a hot climate. Having said that, it still tends to get a bit nippy in winter at times. I remember my first winter here in the city when I was visiting with my erstwhile partner. We were tired, hungry and cold and even though it had been a nice sunny day all day long when the sun went down it became rather chilly and no mistake. We went to a pub and were quite pleased to find a nice blazing fire in a corner of the watering hole. It was a welcome sight for us weary travellers.

I used to live in merry old England and friends of mine had a fireplace in their comfortable home. It was very nice, even soothing, to warm up in front of the blazing embers on a cold winter’s day. It was just lovely to be quite honest. Central heating, though so much more practical, just does not convey the same sense of warm fuzziness, I think you must agree.

The same goes for wood burning stoves in a rustic country kitchen. These stoves just spell comfort and solid quality. Lovely!

Love is the drug

How many people really listen to what is being said, or sung, these days? I ask you. For instance, many people love the beautiful warm sounds of that Stranglers hit 'Golden Brown', but do they know the song's lyrics are actually about heroin and heroin addiction? 'Never a frown, with golden brown'. I once heard a theory that the Chinese introduced heroin to the West as an act of vengeance because of the Opium Wars and the way Western colonial powers subjected the Chinese people to opium dependency in order to make a fortune with the Indian poppy crops. Who knows? I have dabbled in some softer stuff but these days I have to day that I am very wary of anything that could lead to an addiction in whatever shape or form. Addiction is a horrible thing and it is a very nasty feeling to realise one is a slave to a mere substance. The mind plays tricks and is truly a very powerful thing.

When we least expect it, our strong resolve may crumble and we can give in to a longing for exulation and escape from everyday worries and cares. But real life is never far behind and you simply cannot run away from yourself no matter how fast you run. Your inner demons will outrun you until you manage to lay them to rest. Some people manage their desires and cravings for stimuli. I remember reading about William Burroughs but I never found that sort of life story very uplifting by any means. I focus these days on lighter aspects of life and a more wholesome approach to the big questions. I can but try.

Some remedies from addiction can work really well, so people should perhaps realise that there is help out there for those who need it. Take heart. Life is hard but also quite wonderful. At least that it what I like to think.

Telly man

I loves my TV. There, I have only gone and darn well said it. One of my favourite childhood yarns is one that my dear old mum loves to tell and it goes a little like this. When I was a wee little nipper of a lad, growing up in West Sydney, my mother would often be working the laundry in.erm..the laundry only to hear me laughting my head off in the lounge room. Naturally she would investigate at once and would find me parked in front of the television set, cracking up over the funny shenanigans of the Three Stooges. This was an early introduction both to comedy and the medium of television. In later years, fond experiences were to be had when the family had retired for the night with just me left in the lounge room, watching some odd Italian art film on one of the more obscure public telly channels. This, by then, was in Holland. I remember watching Amarcord for the very first time, in a darkly lit room, late at night, with no one around to see it but me. It felt like no one else in the whole world was watching those snowflakes twirl down at precisely that time.

Ah..memories. And I used to love some cheesy sitcoms as well. Not so much the American ones where they always had to include some moral imperative at the end but just fun stuff like Mork and Mindy, Family Ties, Happy Days.

My family also watched The Love Boat and Fantasy Island religiously. Lateron I came to appreciate Dutch intellectual talkshows as well, for instance those presented by the late Theo van Gogh, so brutally murdered for defending free speech and Western democratic ideals.

Of course these days you do not have to limit your self to the telly set. You can have your TV Online and access a whole universe of programming. Tis a brave new world out there, I tells ya! Even with the supposedly dumbed down nature of television, I still regard it as a sophisticated medium with, still, a great potential for broadcasting amazing content, online or otherwise..

Let us hear it for good telly. You just cannot beat it, that is my humble opinion and I stand by it even though I am sitting down while I write these lines. So there!

Horizons

The Greenies are coming. Hide, run away! I never imagined the philosophy of greenism and environmentalism would ever take off to the extent that it has. Back in the eighties the green mob were a few hippie reject and sixties throw backs that no one took any real notice of to be honest. They always seem to be ranting about something or other and it always seemed a very obscure obsession they seemed to be entertaining at any given time. Of course, looking after the planet's resources is not so crazy when you think about it and, as long as we don't have to go back and live in caves again and reinvent the wheel, it makes sense to look after our very own habitat as best we can. I do not think we should wreck our economy just to prove an ideological point though, but that is my opinion. The bills will still need to be paid and we can not all be professional protesters and subsidised activists.

But I have to admit that I hate pollution and I hate waste of any kind. I loathe people littering the streets and just not caring about how they leave the space behind for others who may come after them. I hate wasting food as well as that is precious. Of course, these days we also have ewaste and we will need to find ways to recycle and deal with our many electronic gadgets and computers. This of course needs to be done sensibly.

So, will we be heading for a Green tomorrow? I just hope we can find a balance between the attainable and the desirable. Mankind is hugely adaptable so there is hope for us. Let us keep our chins up, that is what I say!

Working

I work in a call centre. There you have it and no mistake. I have been working there for a number of months now and I have to admit that it is not a bad place to work, all things considered. My previous working life was mostly as a library assistant. I have worked in academic, legal and public libraries. I certainly do not miss working in a public library with the endless wrangling over little fines for overdue books. Bah humbug! To be continued, I'm sure..

Rain

How very strange indeed. I woke up here in North Sydney, not to the usual clear azure sky but rather a damp morning and a grey sky that weighs me down. Bah, dear readers. That is not what normally greets my sleepy eyes of a morning, I can tell you that for nothing. But, the nice weather is not far off and soon we'll be going swimming again in one of the many fabulous salt water pools.
Bring it on!

The beauty of gold

Gold, gold, ahh just the sound of the word sets the mind racing. Gold. Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, gold is a friend for life, that much is certain. Wearing an item of gold jewellery can make one feel rather special or luxurious, and, by the way, is it not nice to feel just that way every now and then. Purchasing a precious item of jewellery for that special occasion, whether it is a marriage proposal, an engagement ring or whatever else you can think of, is a much loved and time honoured tradition. And long may it continue, that is what I say and I stand by it, darn it!

You may even want to buy gold bars and make a splendid investment. You surely would not regret it, I reckon!

Elections

Well well what do you know? We now have had our elections and boy am I tired! It came so close that we are now facing a hung parliament with the major parties wooing the four independent candidates who find themselves holding the balance of power. Weird. Labour has been thrashed in many electorates, especially up in Queensland where the voters were not impressed with the way Gillard culled off poor old Ruddie, one of their own. Oh well. I heard someone on the radio describe the outcome of the election as being like a Tasmanian beauty contest; no one won..

At home

What makes a home a home? Well, any ideas? It is an important question in so far as we all appreciate feeling at home in our abodes, whatever they may be or indeed wherever they may be located. I think you must agree with my humble assertion. Personally, I like the lounge area of my home. Perhaps I am a typical bloke but I like my leather sofa and entertainment system, but also my book cases and cds and film collection.

For others it may be the kitchen. I have known people who just love buying kitchen utensils and then finding just the right place for them in the galley. Others yet rave about luxury pampering time in the bathroom and can’t stop themselves from looking at bathroom vanities and nice little soaps and dishes and what have you.

You get the idea; whatever your bag is, feeling at home at home is very important. It should be a haven, an oasis away from the cruel world outside. So there..

Common sense investing

Gold and silver, those magical sounding words take us away in our imagination to far flung places and evoke images of living the high life in some swanky stylish place or retreat, far from the maddening world of everyday cares and worries. Am I right? I think so anyway.

But did you ever stop to consider that in a very real and utterly practical sense, gold and silver can prove to be a fabulous investment option, all things considered. This is an excellent time in every sense to purchase silver bullion. After all, global demand for the commodity of silver outstretches the production on a yearly basis. Since actually has been the case since at least the year 1990. So, it is a very good time to get in on the action.

Whether it is silver bullion or gold coins you want to invest in, this is the time to go out and do just that.

Aussie pollies

Dear oh dear, an election looming and the two opponents are far from inspirational. Personally, I feel Tony Abbott (or as Guillard calls him "mr Rabbit") and his party are not putting the boot in enough over the Labour Party's disastrous handling of the economy. We've seen countless failed schemes, all costing a fortune, rampant spending. If the Liberals do get in it will be the same old story of a conservative government cleaning up the economic mess of a spend-mad Labour government.

Having said that it remains to be seen what sort of leader Abbott could prove to be. There is something a bit eerie about the man's personality. A strange sort of aura seems to envelop him.

But whatever happens, I don't think Australia can afford to vote this terrible govenment back in.

Work

Work is pretty good at the moment. I'm getting more training and I seem to be learning more all the time. The business I'm in is a rather unusual one but I think I am slowly getting my head around it a bit more and more each day, which is a nice feeling.

If it were up to me I'd spend my days being creative, writing, painting and what not. But bills need to be paid, and that's just a fact. So, work is here to stay. Oh well..

Riding a bike

If you move about on the busy roads of our great cities these days, or anywhere for that matter, and you use some type of vehicle to do so then you must certainly be aware of a few things. Insurance and security are vital considerations on our congested roads, I think you will agree. Personally speaking, being a motor bike rider, I am very aware of all manner of security risks that seem to be inherent to riding a bike these days. For instance, I have had some personal experience in dealing with injury claims and found that not all companies are alike when it comes to this.

If you ever find yourself obliged to put in motorbike accident claims of some sort then I could urge you to make use of the excellent services of Claimant Law. They really helped me a lot when I had to claim for a rather nasty motorbike injury. It's bad enough getting injured on the road so the least you want is to be treated well by your claim company.

Riding a motorbike is great fun. It connotes a sense of freedom and total liberty that is hard to beat. However, with this freedom and abandon comes a measure of necessary responsibility. Your safety is paramount, that is for sure. So if you are looking for a great company to handle your motorbike injury claims then don't hesitate to give Claimant Law a ring. They will do right by you, I guarantee it.

For the love of film and video

Personally speaking, I think it might be fair to say that I am a bit of a film buff. Or perhaps film buff is wrong, I do not at all pretend to possess some immense volume of knowledge about films and the cinematographic arts. Oh no, no lofty airy fairy airs and graces here, to be sure. What I mean to say and what I would attest to is being a great lover of film and video. I remember when I was a lad the first video stores started to appear. My family happened to be one of the first homes to have a video recorder and player in the neighbourhood. This resulted in my friends and I often getting together and clubbbing some money together to rent a video. It was the early stages and some of the films on offer in our local video store were not quite impressive by any standards.

In fact, there were some memorable turkeys that we sometimes ended up with. I remember with suitable horror a veritable nightmare with the less than magical title Driller Killer. This was the story about a driller killer (oh yeah one of those..) who lived one floor up from a punk band. The film was a series of shots of the driller killer killing with his drill interspersed with scenes of this atrocious punk band rehearsing downstairs. It was remarkable in that it was so incredibly abysmal. It must has set some sort of anti-esthetic world record in cinema.

I'm sure you would be treated to something altogether more uplifting at Video Production Austin TX , you can be sure. But, even though those early film experiences were a bit touch and go, they did instill a love of the way you can watch a film and just escape the mundane for a few hours. Often I would stay up late at the family home and watch these rather unusual Italian films on an arty tv channel. I will never forget my impressions after seeing Amarcord for the very first time. Memorable, and then some, that is how you can describe those magical moments.

Dennis Hopper

Dennis Hopper has died. A legend during his lifetime, I think he will be remembered. There was always a lovable quality to his acting, mixed-in with the drugged weirdness and unsettling intensity. I loved him in Apocalypse Now and Blue Velvet. If you want to talk about screen presence, he had it in spades. He always struck me as a funny sort of bloke as well. Do I amuse you? We'll remember him. Vaya con Dios, Dennis..

Abbott porkie pies

Well, well what have we here? A politician in a brief moment of honest insanity? Tony Abbott, leader of the Opposition announced somewhere that sometimes he says things that he may not be able to back up later. In short, he said something like 'You can believe what I say some of the time but not all of the time.' Go figure. I'm sure if's a fairly accurate reflection of most politician's 'honesty policy' but it's also a bit odd for an Opposition leader in the run up to an election campaign to say something like this.

Of course, the ABC and its hordes of leftoid pundits jumped at the chance to decry Abbott. I'm not sure. He does come out with things, that's for sure. I'm just not convinced he'd make for a mature and serious statesman. There seems to be a pathological edge to his demeanor when I hear and see him speak. Abb-odd?

The smart thing to do

I think it may be fair to assert that most of us mere mortals have, at some stage or other, dreamed of what it would be like to be truly rich. Education

Of course every one knows that It is clear that education is an important issue these days and for young people looking for a college or other type of training it is not always easy to find the right educational path that is suitable for their situation. There are all sorts of people and not every kind of training or schooling will be the right choice. Of course, there is a multitude of schools and colleges to choose from and that in itself, that huge choice of options, is not always a great help.

I want to let you know about these Cosmetology school in Maryland that I have heard about. They are Regency beauty schools and they just happen to be the fastest growing beauty school in the land. They have expanded from a mere two Minnesota schools in 2002 to nearly thirty campuses in a number of states and it looks like they will keep growing in the future, I have no doubt. Check it out to find out more about this great opportunity.

Why not get paid to write?

Writing could be my middle name, so to speak. Not really of course, my middle name is perfectly normal and acceptable, nothing strange there I can assure you. But the fact is that I do love writing. I love writing emails, letters, notes, diaries and everything else you can possibly think of. For a number of years now I have also been paid to advertise on blogs by writing short articles that contain a link of some sort. And, the great thing is that there are quite a few sites out there that will provide remuneration for writing blog posts that review a product or service.

One of the best ones, however, has to be Blog Advertising Store.com This is a great paid to blog service, I can not find any fault with them. Most times when I log in to the site there are a number of paid writing opportunities from which I can choose. When you pick an offer you are given plenty of time to go and create your blog article. Then all you need to do is return to the site and submit the URL of your fine writing endeavour and hey presto, the deal is done.

Why not have a look at this interesting blog post that explains a few facets of this paid to blog service. It makes for a fascinating read, that is for sure. It won’t hurt to check it out and see if it is for you.

I have to say that I honestly love this great paid to blog operation. You get paid for doing what you love which is to write, create and use your gift of the gab. Surely, that can’t be bad, I think you will agree when all is said and done. Check it out if you like to write and have a blog up and running. It is a great way to earn a few bucks with your literary efforts.

Playing games

Do you like to play games? Do you? I do not really mean playing mind games or anything of that nature so please do not worry too much. Fun and playing games are things that are usually associated with the world of the child. After all, children have the most wonderfully vivid imaginations and can immerse themselves fully in the excitement of playing games. So, there you go. I remember very well how as a young boy I enjoyed making up stories and playing all manner of games. Happy times, that is for sure and no mistake. But have you ever considered how important it can be for adults to play games and just relax and unwind? I have. Adults may well enjoy the wonderful games at funbrain.

We adult human beings sometimes pride ourselves on our ability to ground ourselves in reality and the cares of the day. The bills need to be paid, there needs to be food on the table and so on and so forth. You get the idea. But at Funbrain-arcade you can play a huge number of games and have fun in the process. You can play arcade games, action, adventure and board games and so much more. Give it a go and see how much fun it can be. Go on..do not wait another minute!

N-Viro

Everybody these days is more aware of the need to look after our environment, that much seems clear I think. N-Viro is something that you simply need to hear about. N-Viro is a process whereby waste water can be treated, immobilised, pasteurised in such a way that has actual market value.

N-Viro which you can find more about here http://www.nviro.com is a great idea to treat waste water in a new alternative and responsible way. This is renewable energy in practice and you must look into it.

You little Beauty

Feeling a tad frazzled today, me hearties. Not sure why, to be honest. Just a bit run down and a bit nervous about things. Of course, my Aussie genes will soon see me relax and unwind again in good style. Might have a barbie and a few schooners and just kick back. Will be seeing Alice in Wonderland this weekend so looking forward to that experience. It will be my first sojourn into 3D territory so I will see how I go.

Love the game

Ever since I was a mere little nipper I have enjoyed playing games. There, I have said it and I am not ashamed of it, so there! In the winter, on those long dark evenings inside, the family would gather around the dining table after dinner and just play a nice board game or two to wile away the hours in a pleasant and always fun way. I loved how competitive some people get when playing games. To some, winning is so important they forget themselves to a certain degree.

But it is all good fun of course and playing a game is not only fun it can sharpen your wits and your responses. With some games, after all, you really do need to be on the ball, everyone knows that. And, suffice to say that there is such a huge range of games to choose from that everyone will have a selection of their favourite games. Personally, I always enjoyed strategic games and also games that relate to general knowledge.

Of course these days there are also video and online and digital games such as poptropica and the like. This is a whole new ball game and then some. There is so much to do and enjoy when it comes to these new games. The sky, really, seems to be the limit.

Creative outlets

Creativity is a truly amazing thing, for to be sure alright. There are simply so many ways to express your creative impulses, however strong they may be. Personally, I enjoy writing. I love to write poetry and am currently also working on a bigger prose project, details of which are, of course, highly confidential and classified at this stage, I am sure you will understand.

I also love photography and am always keen to get out there with my trusted digital camera to shoot a few fine pics. And, of course technology has made this particular creative avenue a lot more interesting to work with in recent years. You can do so much with your pictures in digital format, the mind boggles with the possibilities. It really is astounding.

But there are other things that you can do. Perhaps you want to engage in some postcard printing and send someone a great personal postcard. After all it is always fun to receive some personal creative token of affection in the actual mail. I think that goes for all of us to be honest.

Much as I like keeping in touch with friends by email, text message or Skype voice call, receiving postcards and letters still remains a thrilling occurrence. It is just so much fun to open my post box and find a personal missive of some description. It can really make my day when that happens. So, you see, you can be creative in lots of different ways.

A new health regime

I am happy to say that recently I have been losing some weight. For a number of years now I have to admit that I was sporting a bit of a beer belly. I suppose this is a common feature of the bodies of men of my years. The battle of the bulge is a hard one as most will agree with me. It is not that easy to shift that weight but recently I have been making some progress. I even started doing some running and walking on a more or less regular basis.

I just walk around the block for about half an hour, speeding up every now and then and just trying slowly to build up my stamina and overall physical shape. I am also thinking about joining a Tai Chi class sometime soon. We will see. It is a bit of a struggle to maintain a healthy diet as well. Since I have been with my current partner even this aspect of my health regime has become a lot better.

I am eating more fruit and really enjoying it. I have grown to appreciate steamed vegetables as well and I often indulge in a nice fresh fruit juice, which is just lovely. Of course, when it comes to diet options there is a huge range to choose from, such as p90x meals, and these can really help.

It is good to feel better and to feel a bit fitter. Onwards we go!

Rain

We were supposed to attend a Shakespeare In The Park performance tonight but it looks like it will be a wash out due to the copious amounts of rain that are being showered on Sydney this weekend. So, it literally looks like we will have to take a rain check. Oh well. Shakespeare's not going anywhere anytime soon, I suppose. The Swan of Avon will float again..

Romantic destinations

Personally, I pity the woman whose man is not a romantic by nature. All women love true romance and for me as a man there is nothing as rewarding as making my fiancée feel loved and cherished by lavishing some romantic attention on her. After all, it is what love is all about.

If you are considering a great place for your wedding then you should consider going with Karisma. They have superb hotel accommodation right on the white sand beaches of the Mexican Riviera Maya. Let me tell you: It does not get any better than this, that is for sure.

The Karisma hotels offer the best surroundings for
destination weddings or even just a very romantic getaway or vacation. You will not regret it!

Luvvies on parade

Cate Blanchett recently announced to us mere mortals that the arts demand much more public funding. The lofty artist super beings deign to entertain and enlighten us after all and that is much more important than any other possible use of public funds. I see. Last night on Q&A I heard a gaggle of artistic luvvies make the same we-know-what’s-best-for you-morons noises. It’s a funny old world.

Mr Rooney makes good

Wayne Rooney, the Manchester United striker seems to be scoring great goals left, right and centre at the moment. The departure of laughing boy Ronaldo has seen Rooney take centre stage and blossom into the great striker that I always knew he was. It is good to see the erstwhile Everton golden promise make good on the big stage. Go Rooney!

Making a good investment

There are many ways to make your fortune. If you have a particular talent or natural gift you may choose to put it to good use and make a lucrative career out of it. For most of us reality dictates that we need to find more mundane ways of making a living. But, sometimes opportunities do arise and those among us with some business acumen will leap at the chance of making a difference.

For instance, investing in gold bullion is an excellent way to make money or to safeguard a financial asset in these uncertain monetary times. In fact, now is the
time to buy gold bullion as market conditions are very favourable. Check it out for yourself and you will see what I mean.

Using my camcorder

I like photography. There, I’ve said it. But even more than that I really love shooting film and video. My camcorder is my friend and ally in the creative field. Simply stated, I can’t get enough of good quality camcorders digital or otherwise to use in my work.

A great green car

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hyundai. All opinions are 100% mine.

Going green is the motto of the day. Everywhere you look you will see people trying to be more conscious of their actions and their impact on the environment. It seems to be a whole new attitude but one that is most certainly gaining ground day by day and all around the world. Gone are the days where we just cared about instant gratification with scant regard for the natural world or its limited resources. A new awareness is generally becoming more acceptable and that has to be a good thing at the end of the day.

For instance, you may be in the market for a new motor vehicle. Perhaps you are interested in a car with a conscious. If that is the case, and why would it not be?, then you should most definitely consider the marvellous Hyundai Santa Fe Phase 2 which will blow your mind. Hyundai answers the global green challenge with verve. Can you imagine? With this car you can drive twelve hundred kilometres on a single tank. Fabulous. This is the ultimate in green engineering.

The Hyundai Santa Fe Phase 2 is an extremely fuel efficient car with very low CO2 emissions. You really are making a contribution by driving this amazing car.

It is great to realise that you can make a big difference by choosing the right vehicle for you and your family. This is wonderful news for the environmentally aware, this much is certain.

Cars

Cars. Remember that Gary Newman song? Well, I recently purchased a car and I am very happy with it. It just makes things so much easier when you have a busy lifestyle with lots of demands on your time. Now I just whizz here and there and convenience is the word of the day. Good stuff!

Cat summer

I am sitting here, writing these lines, and the cat Tessa, or Pancake as I like to call her, is looking out the window. It is too hot to do much and I am going to side with the cat on that policy. It is hot and a tad humid. February in Sydney tends to be a bit muggy, for sure. No doubt I will miss the warmth once winter sets in. I'm just gonna keep cool, dudes!

Swelterama

A hot one in Sydney today. There's a fair-dinkum heatwave on this weekend. The mercury may well rise to 43 degrees in the Western suburbs tomorrow.

A veritable scorcher tomorrow so we'll be retreating a bit sharpish to the Dawn Fraser pool. Can't wait to cool off for a few hours.

The new green Hyundai Santa Fe

The news is dominated by so called green issues and campaign matters. More and more people are aware of the need to protect our fragile earth from harm. This in itself just has to be a good thing, at the end of the day. When I was young, there was a budding green movement but they were very much on the fringes of society and perhaps were perceived as a tad off beat in some ways. Little did I know that one day the green movement would be so all pervasive, judging by the world’s media interest in environment issues.

Advances are being made all the time that will make it easier for people to adopt a greener lifestyle. Many people are already used to recycling their household waste or use less energy on a daily basis. If you are looking for a more economical vehicle then you should most definitely consider purchasing the new Hyundai Santa Fewhich amounts to a revolution in motor engineering.

The CHyundai Sante Fe is taking on the global green challenge with style and aplomb. It puts out seven percent less emissions while at the same time being able to generate twenty seven percent more power. These are impressive figures, I think you will agree.

Holiday fever

Just got back from a few amazing days of holiday on the Central Coast. My fiance and I headed north out of Sydney and descended on the lovely coastal town of Terrigal. The ocean was amazing and we spent many hours swimming and frolicking in the surf that rolled in from the Pacific.

Also enjoyed some very fine dining and generally had a very relaxing time. Lovely memories linger..
